How will the winners be selected?
The winners will be selected through a series of daily community poll votes on X completed over 2 weeks. There is no on-chain voting. Please follow @thecardanocard to participate in poll voting and for results.
What's the judging criteria?
The community can vote for the design(s) they feel best represents the ethos of the Cardano Card according to their own standards.
How will community voting work?
Several polls will be posted daily for a 2-week period on @thecardanocard. It will include World Cup tournament style group stage and head-to-head style voting rounds.
We’re running the contest in 3 rounds using X polls to narrow down 108 designs to 4 winners:
Round 1 (Aug 19–25):
27 polls with 4 designs each. Voters pick 1 winner per poll = 27 winners.
Round 2 (Aug 26–29):
12 polls (9 with 2 designs, 3 with 3 designs). Winners advance = 12 finalists.
Round 3 (Sep 1–2):
4 polls with 3 designs each. The top design in each poll wins = 4 final winners.
How long does the voting last?
The tournament runs for 2 weeks. Each poll is open for 24 hours.
Can I vote more than once?
You can vote in every poll, but only once per poll per X account.
Where can I vote?
On X via polls on @thecardanocard. Turn on notifications so you don’t miss the chance to vote.
Will the card be physical or virtual?
This will be decided upon further discussion and review with the card issuer. However, we have seen demand for a virtual card.
Where can I see the bracket?
The full bracket is updated daily and viewable via a public Figma link.
How are winners determined from the community voting?
The top-voted design in each poll advances. After three rounds, 4 winners remain. Each of the 4 winners will receive 1,000 ADA.
How are the pairings/group decided?
Matchups were randomly generated at the start to ensure fairness.
When will the winning design be released as a card?
Designs from winning entries may be adopted and used to inspire the design of the Cardano Card.
How and when will the ADA be paid out?
Upon winning the community vote, we will announce the four winners in an official post on @thecardanocard and reach out to them with further instructions.
Who owns the copyright to the design?
By participating in the design competition, you give EMURGO all rights to use or reproduce your work.
Will there be a grand prize or sole winner?
There will be 4 winning entries that will each receive 1,000 ADA and their designs may be adoped and used to inspire the design of the Cardano Card depending on card issuer approval.
Why only 4 winners?
We changed it to where we feel 4 winners allow for different designs to be celebrated that best fit what we and the community are looking for.
Will second-place, third-place, and fourth-place winners get paid differently?
Each of the 4 winners will receive 1,000 ADA.
Will the lucky winner get paid extra for their design?
Each of the 4 winners will receive 1,000 ADA.
How are duplicate votes prevented?
X polls allow only 1 vote per account per poll. While botting cannot be fully prevented, results are transparent and verifiable.
Is there on-chain voting data?
No, voting is not done on-chain and will be conducted through polls on X.
I forgot to vote in the past round. How can I vote?
